ADVOCATE FOR A CLEANER RIVER BASIN
Give Today!
At this turning point in the path of the Sheboygan River in its phase of healing and recovery, we need your support to ensure that it is cared for well into the future!
Our own health and well-being, the health of our communities, and the health of our environment are inextricably intertwined. Investing in the quality of our water is an investment in our quality of life.
The Sheboygan River Basin Partnership has cared for the Sheboygan River and its tributaries for over 20 years and our work continues. With your support, and through collaboration with our many partners and stakeholders, we are having an extraordinary impact on the health of water resources in the Sheboygan River Basin.
Since our founding, Sheboygan River Basin Partnership has been able to use our funding towards:
14-mile Sheboygan River Water Trail launched in 2019
1,000+ hits to the Interactive Sheboygan River Water Trail site during the 2020 paddling season, during a time when being outdoors was especially critical to our wellbeing
55 kindergarten students sponsored to participate in an outdoor education field experience in 2019
421 pounds of trash collected by 104 volunteers during 2019 Beach Cleanups
46 volunteers collected 24 garbage bags full of trash at the 14th Annual River Cleanup in 2020; 37 volunteers collected a total of 74 pounds of garbage during the Fall 2020 beach cleanup with health precautions in place
2,000 trees planted in the Pigeon River Corridor in 2020
307 landowners engaged and 86 acres treated of invasive Phragmites and Japanese Knotweed in Sheboygan County in 2020
12 townships currently engaged in Emerald Ash Borer mitigation, along with local government at the village, city, and county level
280 trees planted as a part of five EAB Mitigation projects supported by the ROOTS Community Investment Fund in the City of Sheboygan, City of Sheboygan Falls, City of Plymouth, and Village of Elkhart Lake in 2020
The collaborative nature of our work and support of many partners allows us to leverage multiple funding sources, boosting local resources and stretching the value of each dollar provided by generous local donors like you, while also bringing in state and federal dollars for a greater collective impact and investment in our communities.
Thank you for being one of our many significant partners in this critical work!
