Ephemeral Pond Map Training
Sheboygan Area of Concern
Willow Creek
The Sheboygan River Basin Partnership needed help in creating displays that would raise people's awareness of the need to restore the Sheboygan River. Mike Buehler's 6th grade class at Howards Grove Middle School traditionally creates drawings reflective of their Sheboygan Marsh ecology field trips each fall. So, it was no trouble to have them focus on another aspect of the Sheboygan River - its dire need for clean-up and restoration. Artwork from five students were featured on Sheboygan area billboards. Crystal Peterman's art was also featured on the 2007 Sheboygan River Litter Clean-up T-shirts.

Funding from a Wisconsin Environmental Education Board grant covered the cost of renting the billboards. The billboards were on display from December 2006 through March 2007, with a combined potential exposure to more than 5,000,000 vehicles!
The Sheboygan River Basin Partnership hopes to continue the billboard art competition in the future.
